Overview

QuikTake ("we", "us") helps teams collect video responses from people they invite. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

We collect account details, such as name and email, when you sign up; contact information you provide about recipients you invite; videos those recipients submit; and basic usage information needed to operate the service, such as whether an invitation was opened or a video was received.

We may also collect basic technical information associated with uploaded content, such as file format and upload timing, to help deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

How We Use Information

We use this information to operate QuikTake, including creating requests, sending invitations and notifications, storing and displaying submissions, and keeping the service secure and reliable.

Recipients do not need an account to submit a video. Access is provided through a private submission link.

Private Submission Links

Each recipient receives a unique private submission link. Anyone with access to that link may be able to submit content for that request, so recipients should keep the link private and avoid forwarding it unless intended.

Requestors can close, deactivate, or delete a request to stop further submissions.

Video Processing

Submitted videos may be processed and transcoded so they can be reviewed and released as a usable MP4. Processing is performed by QuikTake's video-processing infrastructure on our behalf.

When a verified Release MP4 is created as a separate file, we may remove the temporary original from storage after about 72 hours.

Playback and Download

Videos and related files are stored in private cloud storage. Playback and download use short-lived signed URLs rather than public file links.

Private Share Links

Requestors can create private Share links for selected videos. Anyone who has a valid Share link can access the selected content while that link remains valid. Recipients of a Share link do not need a QuikTake account.

Requestors can set an expiration or revoke a Share link so it no longer works.

Service Providers

We use cloud and software providers to operate QuikTake. We do not sell personal information. These providers process information on our behalf only as needed to provide and support QuikTake.

  • Supabase — accounts, database, and private video storage
  • Fly.io — video processing and transcoding
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery
  • Resend — invitation, notification, and feedback email
  • PostHog — limited product analytics
  • Sentry — error and performance monitoring, when enabled

Analytics and Error Reporting

PostHog is used for limited product analytics, such as understanding when key features are used. We do not use PostHog to collect submitted video content, private submission links, or the contents of custom messages.

When Sentry is enabled, it may receive technical error and performance information to help us diagnose problems. Private submission links are excluded from that telemetry.

Storage, Trash, and Deletion

Videos and related files are stored in private cloud storage. Access for playback, download, and Share viewing is provided through short-lived signed URLs.

Requestors can move requests and submissions to Trash. Items in Trash remain recoverable for about 30 days and are then scheduled for permanent deletion, including associated videos and thumbnails. Requestors can also permanently delete items from Trash sooner.

Your Choices

Requestors can remove recipients and associated data from a request at any time.

If you are a recipient and want your video or personal information removed, contact us and we will help.

There is not currently a self-service option to delete an entire QuikTake account. If you want your account and associated data removed, email support@quiktake.app and we will handle the request.
